Big day of debates for CO candidates, pot measure

Four of Colorado’s congressional hopefuls are in Denver for another round of political debates, including a debate on legalizing pot.

Republican Rep. Cory Gardner of eastern Colorado was debating his Democratic challenger, Brandon Shaffer, on Wednesday. And Democratic Rep. Ed Perlmutter was taking on Republican Joe Coors in a debate for a suburban Denver district that Republicans have been trying to put back in their column for six years, when Perlmutter first won.

The debates are sponsored by KUSA-TV in Denver and The Denver Post.

The marijuana legalization measure is also up for debate. Supporters of the measure to allow marijuana use without a doctor’s recommendation are going up against legalization opponents.

The debates will air later.
