Victim identified in Widefield fire

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman who died in a house fire on October 4th.

64-year-old Linda McDowell died after a home was engulfed in flames in the 400 block of Cielo Vista Street in Widefield.

There were five other family members in the home who escaped. Three of those who escaped were transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained from the fire and smoke.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
