New app keeps track of kids on school bus

Parents of students at School District 49 can now keep track of their children who board the bus, through a new application.

The district uses Zonar Systems’ card system, so when students board the bus, they swipe their card. Now when they swipe, parents can get a real time notification telling them when and where the student got on or off the bus.

The application is provided by Zonar Systems, not the school district, and there is a monthly fee. To sign up, click here.
