Pedestrian killed by SUV while crossing interstate

A woman was killed in Pueblo while crossing Interstate 25 at 13th Street on Tuesday morning.

Our partners at the Pueblo Chieftain report that a woman was crossing the interstate when she was hit by a white SUV driven by another woman. The victim is believed to be in her 30s and died at the scene.

Northbound lanes of I-25 were closed for about two hours in the area. The interstate has since reopened.

The driver of the SUV was taken to police headquarters but is not expected to be cited in the accident.
