Showers and storms continue with a risk of Flash Flooding over the burn area: Severe weather threat over Eastern Plains

Tonight we will see partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms over the I-25 Corridor. There is a Flash Flood Watch in effect until 8 p.m. tonight for the "Aspen Acres" fire burn area, where we could see heavy rain leading to debris over that area.

We do have a chance of severe storms out on the Eastern Plains, which could contain large hail along with strong, damaging winds. It will be on the breezy side with winds out of the southeast at 10 to 15 mph. Overnight lows will fall into the mid to upper 50's for most areas in the Pikes Peak Region.

Friday will bring us another chance of showers and thunderstorms in the early afternoon and evening hours. Storms will begin popping up over the High Country just after the lunchtime hour, and will move eastward across the I-25 Corridor and eventually out towards the Eastern Plains once again. Some of the storms could be severe on the Eastern Plains. Highs will be slightly cooler, generally in the mid to upper 80s.

Saturday and Sunday will bring us hot and dry conditions. Expect highs in the lower 90s here in the Pikes Peak Region, and triple-digit heat out on the Eastern Plains.

The hot and dry conditions will continue for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, with highs in the lower 90s.
