Bizarre crash knocks down power in Springs neighborhood
An issue over a borrowed car ended in a car crash near Delaware and Marian Drive, on Tuesday. It knocked down a light pole and sent several people to the hospital.
Police said a man had borrowed a friend’s car on Saturday and didn’t return it, as agreed. On Tuesday, the car owner and others confronted him at a parking lot. They surrounded him in three different cars, smashed the car window, and pulled him out.
Police said the man got away and ran. One of the other cars followed him. The chase ended at Delaware and Marian Drive when the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a utility pole.
The crash caused several buildings in the area to lose power, but the fire department said it wouldn’t take long for it to return.
Police said several people were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
