Suspected drunk driver to blame for bad wreck through Fountain

Emergency responders have reopened one lane of northbound Interstate 25 following a bad wreck that investigators said was caused by a suspected drunk driver.

The wreck occurred around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night and involved four cars, according to state troopers.

According to KRDO Newschannel 13’s Jaclyn Rostie, one air ambulance and two ground ambulances left the scene at mile marker 122 near the Pikes Peak International Raceway.

William Franklin, 46, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Investigators said he hit one car from behind that was stopped on the interstate due to traffic. That car hit two others following the initial collision.

No word yet on how many people were hurt.
