Lamar police commander wanted for felony theft turns self in
A commander with the Lamar Police Department and his wife who were wanted on felony theft warrants turned themselves in on Friday according to the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office.
Lamar Police Commander Ed Herrera and his wife, Carolyn, were wanted for felony theft for allegedly taking and selling a water softener valued at $1,050 from property they were renting in Wiley, according to Prowers County Undersheriff Ron Trowbridge.
According to Trowbridge, the warrants were issued Wednesday night. The couple turned themselves into the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office late Friday evening. They were released on PR bonds and are scheduled to return to the Prowers County District Court on Tuesday.
