Pueblo Police Make Arrest In Bessemer Beating

Police have arrested a man suspected of running over then beating another man in the Bessemer neighborhood.

The attack happened just before 2:30a.m. Thursday morning.

Police say Robert Stanford, 40 (pictured above), attacked 25-year-old Jimmy Holland near the Double Deuce on Northern.

Witnesses say Holland had gotten out of the Stanford’s pick-up truck and was walking away when Stanford struck him with the vehicle. He then exited the truck and proceeded to hit Holland with some type of weapon.

Holland is now in stable condition, but has a brain injury that is considered critical.

Stanford, who did not tell police what led to the incident, is in custody Thursday night awaiting a bond hearing.
