Economists detail latest Colo. revenue projections

State economists are detailing what the latest revenue picture looks like for Colorado.

The governor’s office and legislative staff are scheduled to give lawmakers the first quarterly estimates of the fiscal year on Thursday.

Colorado’s economy has been slowly recovering from the recession. The state ended the last fiscal year with $7.6 billion in general fund revenue, about $239 million more than what economists had projected.

The better-than-expected tax revenue prevented further budget cuts to schools and returned a property tax break for some seniors.

The current fiscal year began July 1. Economists have said they think the state could see slower growth this year.
