David Anderson’s day in court won’t be forgotten

It was an unusual first court appearance for the man linked to Wednesday’s crime spree in Colorado Springs. David Anderson is connected to three bank robberies, a stickup, an attack at a sporting goods store and throwing stolen money out of his car as police chased him.

Anderson’s first court advisory turned into a mini-comedy act. The judge asked him, “Any questions?”

Anderson replied, “Is today September 10th?”

“It’s September 20th,” the judge responded.

“It’s September 20th,” said Anderson. “You’re sure about that?”

“I’m positive,” the judge responded.

Minutes later Anderson said to the judge, “Where are you located right now?”

The judge replied, “I’m at the courthouse.”

“That’s a fancy piece of machinery you’ve got to the left side,” Anderson said.

The judge responded with a thank you and directed Anderson to take a seat while a deputy pulled him away.

26-year-old Anderson is also going to have to come up with a $500,000 bond to get temporary freedom. His next court date is September 26th.
