Florence to hold meeting on sexually violent predator

Police are warning the community about the arrival of a sexually violent predator.

A meeting has been set in Florence for 6:00p.m. at the City Hall complex.

The meeting is open to all. Residents will learn the identity and criminal past of a parolee who is set to move to the Florence community. They will also learn the address where the SVP is expected to reside.

When a convict who has been tagged with the SVP designation is released into the community, police are required to inform the public according to Colorado law.

Residents are reminded that the information in the meeting is meant for their edification, and is not to be used to engage in any form of vigilantism.
