Police look for alleged credit card thieves

Colorado Springs police are looking for two suspects who are accused of burglarizing cars at Garden of the Gods Park.

Investigators believe that on Aug. 31, the suspects broke into a victim’s car while it was parked in the Garden of the Gods area. The suspects took three purses belonging to the three victims that were together in that vehicle, police said. The suspects then used the victims’ credit cards at numerous locations in both Colorado Springs and Pueblo before the victims could cancel their credit cards.

On Sept. 11, another vehicle was burglarized in the Garden of the Gods area. The victim’s credit cards were again used to make fraudulent purchases.

Investigators believe that the same suspects are responsible for both incidents. The couple shown in the accompanying photos was seen sitting in a light-colored sedan in the same parking lot as the victims prior to the burglary.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying the two suspects. If you have any information about the case, call police at 719-444-7000 or you may call Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 719-634-STOP (7867). You do not have to give your name and could earn a cash reward.
