Pilot walks away after plane crash in Elbert County

A small plane crashed in a field in Elbert County on Tuesday after the pilot had technical trouble during take-off.

The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office says that the pilot called in the incident himself after having trouble taking off. The pilot crash-landed the plane in a field near 35512 Comanche Creek Road in Kiowa, Colo.

The pilot walked away from the accident. There were no other passengers or aircraft involved. Emergency crews are at the scene to make sure there is no fire hazard.
