MMJ dispensary owner watches burglar rob store

Colorado Springs police responded to an early morning burglary at The Healing Canna on Tuesday. The owner called police and told them he was watching the burglary happen on video shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The Healing Canna is a medical marijuana dispensary located on E. Bijou Street.

Police said their investigation revealed two suspects broke into the business using large rocks. They broke the glass door with the rocks and kicked in the metal security bar, police said.

The suspects didn’t take anything from the dispensary, police said.

Both of the suspects were dressed in gray sweat suits and were carrying gray backpacks. Their faces were covered with stocking caps, police said.

The owner of The Healing Canna, Mark Eccher, said that he believes these are the same people who broke into his shop in August.

Police are checking the surveillance tapes to see if they can link them to other break-ins in the area.

Eccher is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of these suspects. If you have any information about the crime, call Colorado Springs Police at 719-444-7000.
