Crime Stoppers offering reward for Waldo-related tips

As investigators continue working to determine whether the Waldo Canyon Fire was intentionally set, or an accident, Crime Stoppers wants to remind the public, they’re still offering a reward for tips that lead to an arrest.

“I, like so many people in the community was impacted by the fire,” said Crime Stoppers President Doug Berwick. “My sister lost her house.”

Berwick said it’s that connection, and his concern for the community that prompted his company, Berwick Electric to offer $5,000 for information that could lead to an arrest if the Waldo Canyon fire is ruled as arson.

“We want to make sure it never happens again,” he said. And if it turns out to be arson, “We want to find the person responsible and put the person behind bars.”

He said there haven’t been any calls made to the tip line, and he hopes that changes. He said any tip, no matter how small could help.

You can call Crime Stoppers, and remain anonymous at (719) 634-STOP.
