Crews extricate victim in crash

Colorado Springs firefighters extricated one teen from an SUV after a crash on Templeton Gap near the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway.

Two brothers, a sophomore and a senior at Doherty High School, were on their way to school when they crashed into a tree around 8:30 a.m., according to police. One brother was able to get out of the car and the other had to be extricated, according to our crew at the scene.

Crews cut off the top of the suburban and transported the victim to the hospital. Both brothers are said to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
