Woman’s body found in bushes in Aurora

The body of a woman was found Monday afternoon in Aurora, near a home where a woman was reportedly kidnapped Sunday morning, according to police department spokesman Frank Fania.

According to our sister station in Denver, KMGH, the body was found in the bushes next door to the scene of the alleged kidnapping.

Investigators believe 23-year old Bertha Garcia may have been abducted by her ex-boyfriend, 32-year old German Medina.

Police said that Medina went to his brother’s house and asked to borrow his brother’s car and a gun. The brother lent Medina his car but did not give him a gun, police said. Around this same time, Garcia was with a friend in the 1900 block of Paris St.

At about 12:15 a.m., Garcia walked her friend out to his car and the friend drove away. As the friend was leaving, he saw a Hispanic male approach Garcia as she was walking back towards her house. A short time later, Garcia was reported as missing and has not been seen since.

Garcia was last seen wearing grey pajamas and pink flip-flop sandals. She is described as 5’07” and weighs 125 lbs. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Medina is believed to be wearing a black leather coat. He is described as 5’08” and weighs 140 lbs. He has black hair, brown eyes, and a thin beard. The car he borrowed from his brother is a black, 1997 Lexus, two-door, with Colorado license plate 339-WDJ.

Photos of Garcia and Medina are included in this article.
