Arrest in Denver after shooting

Denver police arrested a suspect Saturday afternoon after a shooting in the northeast part of downtown injured one person.

According to 7News, the shooting happened in the area of Park Avenue and Broadway around 1:30 p.m., said Denver police spokesman Detective John White.

Officers were called to the area after a caller reported seeing a person firing a gun, White said.

When officers arrived, they found a person with a gunshot wound, White said.

They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. There is no word on their condition.

Officers searched the area and took one person into custody.
