Ft. Carson soldier killed in Afhanistan

The Department of Defense announced on Monday announced the death of Spc. Kyle R. Rookey, 23, of Oswego, N.Y.

The DOD says Spc. Rookey died Sept. 2, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan from a non-combat related incident.

He was assigned to the 4 th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4 th Brigade Combat Team, 4 th Infantry Division, at Fort Carson.

Ft. Carson supplied the following information about Spc. Rookey:
