Body of missing hiker possibly found

Officials in Custer County believe they have found the body of a missing hiker who fell while hiking Tuesday.

24 people from 5 counties aided in the search. The body was found around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. A Coroner will have to positively ID the body.

We’ve learned that the missing hiker is a man in his 30s from the Denver area.

Officials tell us that two people were hiking when the man fell.

The captain of the Search and Rescue team from Custer County told KRDO Newschannel 13 on Tuesday that the search was a recovery mission because they did not expect to find the hiker alive.
