Metro Mobility fare increasing

The Transit Services Division of the City of Colorado Springs, administrator of Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT), will implement its final fall service changes over the next few months.

The ADA (Metro Mobility) paratransit fare will be increased by .50 cents to $3.50 per one-way trip. This change will align Mountain Metropolitan’s ADA fares with the Federally-allowed ADA maximum of two-times the local fixed-route fare.

Existing eligible ADA riders on Metro Mobility will still have the option to ride free on all of Mountain Metro’s local fixed-route buses. The fare increase will go into effect later this year.

FrontRange Express (FREX) will be eliminated due to projected long-term City funding shortfalls. The last day of service will be Friday, August 31, 2012.

Four public meetings were held to inform the public of the proposed fall 2012 service changes and to solicit comments from the public.
