Fugitive caught in Colorado Springs

Guns were drawn and a perimeter was set up in the 800 block of Yuma as Springs Police were looking for a wanted man.

Just before 10, Friday morning, officers got a tip that Dennis Rodriguez was in a town home on Yuma. Rodriguez was wanted on narcotics charges. Sgt. Tony Erickson told me that Rodriguez had violent tendencies and anything could potentially happen.

Sgt. Erickson said, “Paramount is the safety of the public and ourselves. We have to be ready for anything.” Springs Police told me that Rodriguez was found hiding in a nearby shed. Rodriguez indicated to officers that he knew they were outside. He walked out of the shed and surrendered. No one was hurt.
