Man and woman arrested for child abuse

Colorado Springs police have arrested a man and a woman for their connection to the abuse of a 5-year-old boy.

The alleged abuse happened on January 1, 2012. Medical personnel responded to a home in the 3900 block of E. Bijou St. for a 5-year-old boy who was unconscious and not breathing. The boy was transported to Memorial Hospital and suffered a life-threatening brain bleed, according to police. The current condition of the boy is not known.

The case was taken over by detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit. On Wednesday, detectives arrested a man and a woman while they attended a court hearing.

31-year-old Tracy Roybal is charged with two counts of felony child abuse and one felony charge of attempting to influence a public servant.

25-year-old Brittany Henderson was arrested for two counts of felony conspiracy to commit child abuse and one felony charge of attempting to influence a public servant.

Both were booked into CJC with $250,000 bonds.
