Pedestrian killed on 8th Street identified

A man who died after being hit by a vehicle on 8th Street has been identified as 53-year-old Steven Irl Wood.

Three police officers saw the accident happen around 10 p.m. Sunday night. They say a Jeep was northbound on 8th when Wood ran out in front of the Jeep and was hit.

8th Street was closed near Abbott Lane for several hours during investigation.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
