Victim of 2 Dog Tavern shooting identified

Colorado Springs police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting at 2 Dog Tavern as 35-year-old Kevin McCray of Colorado Springs.

The shooting happened around 1:40 Sunday morning in the 3100 block of S. Academy Blvd. near Hancock Expressway. Police say they think it all started as a fight.

“We’re in the real early stages of the investigation,” said Sgt. Tim Stankey, from the Colorado Springs Police Department. “We’re putting all the information together to try to piece that together.”

Police tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 that McCray died at Memorial Hospital.

Police arrested 24-year-old Tyler Scott Williamson Sunday night. Officers with the CSPD Tactical Enforcement Unit found him at his home in the 1800 block of East La Salle Street. Police say Williamson is facing a First Degree Murder charge.

Police are still asking for your help in this investigation.

“We know there was a lot of people here when this incident occurred that weren’t necessarily here when the officers arrived,” Sgt. Stankey said. “So we’d be interested to speak with some of those people who may have seen or heard something.”
