Police, Sheriff seek one-man crime wave

Law enforcement across El Paso County are trying to stop a one-man crime wave by catching up to a wanted man.

Teto Faust, 30, is wanted by Colorado Springs Police on child sex assault charges. Faust was featured in mid-July on KRDO Newschannel 13’s weekly segment “DA’s Most Wanted.”

On Thursday, someone spotted Faust in the area of Dublin and Academy but authorities couldn’t catch him.

Now, Faust has also been linked to recent crime in the Widefield-Security area. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said Faust was one of two men who broke into the home of a 77-year old woman at the end of July. A spokesman for EPCSO said the pair stole electronics and a car from the victim. Authorities recovered the stolen car but have yet to catch up to Faust.

“Any lead that we get we’ll go down that path and hopefully get closer to locating him,” said Sgt. Joe Roybal of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Faust also has weapons charge and another sexual assault on an adult charge in his criminal background.

KRDO Newschannel 13 learned that Faust’s Facebook account has remained active with the addition of at least one high school and another friend who “liked” one news story about his alleged criminal activity.

El Paso County Sheriff’s detectives said they want to talk to anyone who’s seen Faust in the last few weeks.

“If they do know his whereabouts or his last location please call the sheriff’s office at 390-5555,” said Roybal. “That is a non emergency number.”
