Glider crash injures one on Mt. Herman

A hang glider or parasail crashed on Mt. Herman on Monday afternoon, injuring one person.

A Memorial Star helicopter transported a 21-year-old man to the hospital. According to the Tri-Lakes Fire Dept., the man suffered a possible head injury but was conscious and talking after the accident. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The fire dept. says that erratic winds may have caused the accident.

The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. on the east face of the summit of Mt. Herman, a popular launching spot for gliders.
