Arrest made in Otero County sex assault

A La Junta man has been arrested in connection to a sexual assault of a woman in Otero County.

The victim reported to the Otero County Sheriff’s Office that she had been sexually assaulted at a residence in the 28000 block of County Road Y, west of La Junta. The alleged assault happened on July 17th and the woman reported it to authorities on August 6th. The relationship between the two is unclear.

Sheriff’s deputies investigated the assault and arrested 24-year-old Christopher Klob-Gutierrez of La Junta, charging him with sexual assault.

Klob-Gutierrez is being held at the Otero County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
