Fight ends with man stabbed

A fight Wednesday night ended with two people being sent to area hospitals and a third person being arrested.

It happened shortly before 10 p.m. at 2400 Sunbird Drive.

Police tell us a man and a woman were fighting when 34 year old Javier Abeyta punched the woman in the face. He then grabbed a knife and approached the woman, police said. That’s when another man got in between the two. Police say Abeyta stabbed the other man.

The man who was stabbed and the woman who was hit were both taken to local hospitals and treated for what police are calling serious but not life threatening injuries.
