Third person dies in SD motorcycle rally crash

A third motorcycle fatality is being reported at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office says the victim lost control of the bike on a sharp turn on Highway 14A about four miles west of Lead on Monday afternoon. A passenger was injured and flown to a Rapid City hospital.

Both people were from Colorado. Authorities did not immediately identify them.

Men from Minnesota and Indiana died in motorcycle crashes on Sunday.

The rally that draws hundreds of thousands of people to South Dakota’s Black Hills each summer began Monday and runs through Sunday
