Man attempts to set apartment in fire

Colorado Springs police arrest a man after they say he attempted to set his apartment on fire Monday night.

Police say 31-year-old Domonic Jose Krause tried to set his third story apartment on fire at the Fountain Villas Apartments on South Chelton Road shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.

He was evicted earlier in the day Monday. When police arrived, they said they found a pipe usually used to smoke drugs and burned carpet outside of his apartment. When police confronted Krause he fought back. He was eventualy arrested.

Krause is facing several charges including, attempted first degree arson, fourth degree arson-endangerment, obstructing a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
