Colo. shooting victim remembered in Ahwatukee

The family of a 24-year-old Arizona man who died in the Colorado theater shooting remembered him as a loving person.

Alex Teves and 11 others were killed more than a week ago in Aurora, Colo., at a midnight showing of the new Batman movie. He died while shielding his girlfriend from the gunfire.

His family spoke to the media after a memorial service Saturday in the Phoenix suburb of Ahwatukee. They told KPHO-TV that Alex always wore a white T-shirt and blue jeans to his Phoenix high school because he didn’t want to spend time figuring out outfits.

His father, Tom Teves, says Alex “was more interested in relationships.”

The TV station reports his parents and most of his friends wore white T-shirts and blue jeans to his memorial.
