Kidnapping suspect arrested in Prowers County

Prowers County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on a nationwide warrant for kidnapping on Monday night.

Deputies began looking in the 21000 block of US Highway 287 for a blue, Ford F150 that was involved in a kidnapping out of Colorado Springs. After several hours they learned from Baca County deputies that the vehicle was headed north on Hwy 287. Prowers County deputies set out spike strips across the highway and the suspect vehicle hit the strips.

38-year-old Jason Leinweber was arrested on a nationwide warrant for kidnapping and a long list of drug charges. The details of the kidnapping are unknown at this time.
