Florence man in critical condition after Aurora shooting

The theater shooting in Aurora had many residents of one Southern Colorado town in disbelief because they had close friends inside.

Caleb Medley and his wife, Katie, both graduated from Florence High School in 2008.

Caleb was shot in the face and is listed in critical condition at a Denver hospital. His wife was uninjured in the shooting but is nearing the end of her pregnancy. The Medley family said she is scheduled to be induced on Monday.

Friends said they recently moved the Denver area so Caleb could pursue a career in comedy.

Caleb Medley spent five years working at Big D Super Foods in Florence. Friends said he always joked around, had a great attitude and was loved by his co-workers and friends.

Caleb Medley’s father is the pastor of Mountain View Baptist Church in Florence, according to friends.
