Movie goers react to Aurora massacre

Movie goers who waited in line to watch “The Dark Knight Rises” in Colorado Springs Friday morning said they were shocked and disgusted over the shooting massacre in Aurora.

Matt Rooney and his sister-in-law, Faith, waited in line to watch the 9 a.m. showing after already watching the 3:30 a.m. showing.

They said they found out about the shooting after the first showing and were in disbelief.

According to Faith, many of the moviegoers were glued to their phones while in line, keeping up with the latest information about the shooting.

She said it was disheartening to find out that the suspected gunman, James Holmes, 24, was dressed similarly to the villain of the Batman movie, Bane.

According to law enforcement, Holmes was wearing a gas mask and bullet-proof vest. He was also armed with multiple weapons.

Matt said he did not believe that the movie led to the shooting, but said that he is relieved Holmes is in custody.

Many of the movie goers said it was reassuring to hear that law enforcement considered this an isolated incident.
