Pilot Makes Belly Landing In Colorado Springs

A single engine Cessna landed safely at the Colorado Springs airport Thursday evening, after failing to deploy one of its landing gear.

The two people on board were uninjured.

The airport tower was alerted about 5:45 Thursday evening that the pilot could not lock his right landing gear in the down position.

The pilot circled the Colorado Springs airport for more than an hour, burning fuel before coming in for a belly landing.

The flight was coming from Liberal, Kansas.

The passenger and pilot were not identified by airport officials.
