5-acre wildfire under control in Fremont County

Fire crews from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, BLM and Tallahassee Fire Department are on scene of a 5 acre wildland fire northwest of Canon City.

The fire is located on Rice Mountain which is off of County Road 69 between the Red Canyon area and High Park Road (CR 11).

As of 6:15 p.m., officials say the fire is under control. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. The fire was reported at 1:18pm Thursday.
