Man charged with sexually assaulting a child

Police arrested 72-year-old Bobby Caddell Monday morning and charged him with sexual assault on a child.

Caddell was arrested at 2501 N. Nevada after police say they got a report that a 14-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted.

According to an affidavit, Caddell told police he made the biggest mistake of his life.

The victim said she was lying on the couch watching television at approximately 1:00 a.m. when Caddell approached her and then touched her inappropriately, the affidavit stated.

Caddell told police he and the girl are not directly related. He said he had picked her up from her mother’s home on Sunday for her to spend the week with him, stated the affidavit.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail, but has since bonded out, according to court records.
