Two arrested in connection to Pueblo homicide

Two people have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in Pueblo Sunday night.

A Pueblo man, identified as 40-year-old David Sanchez, was killed after being shot in an altercation in the area of Northern and Taylor.

21-year-old Randy Quaduor has been arrested for 2nd degree murder. 20-year-old Alejandro Anchondo has also been arrested for menacing with a deadly weapon. Anchondo is accused of menacing Sanchez prior to the deadly shooting. He’s also accused of menacing another victim who was not injured during the event.

According to Pueblo Police, the shooting began just before 10:00 p.m. as an altercation between two groups. The two groups were in cars and one group was being chased by the other. The group being chased called 40-year-old David Sanchez for help.

According to our news partners at the Pueblo Chieftain, Sanchez was a relative of someone in the car. Detective Sgt. Ken Espinoza tells the Chieftain that Sanchez ended up in the car with the group and told them to go home.

Espinoza said the car later met up with the other vehicle at the corner of Northern and Taylor avenues. He said Sanchez, upset about what was happening, exchanged words with people in the other car and allegedly was shot in the chest.

Sanchez drove away from the scene and ended up crashing into a light pole at Eilers and Northern.

Sanchez was taken to Parkview Medical Center where he died of his injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time and the homicide investigation continues. If you have any information on this case, you’re asked to call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP (7867).
