Historians preserve Waldo Canyon fire artifacts

The Pioneer museum is collecting items from homeowners who lost their homes in the Waldo Canyon fire.

“We think 25, 50, 100 years from now people will look back at this as a pivotal time in our community,” said museum director Matt Mayberry.

Francine Hansen lost her home in the fire and is donating pottery, family jewelry and a Vespa to the museum.

“This stuff will just get boxed up and put away. This way it will be there forever,” said Hansen.

The Pioneer Museum is taking submissions to document the Waldo Canyon fire.
