Girl killed by car in tragic accident

An 8-year-old girl was struck and killed after running across Highway 50C, also known as Santa Fe Drive, in Pueblo late Saturday night.

Shortly before 10 p.m. the girl ran across Santa Fe Drive in front of a car. The car struck the child. She was taken to a local hospital,where she later died.

State Patrol says the driver of the car was not at fault in the accident and will not face any charges.
