Guilty plea in drive-by shootings

A 19-year-old man involved in several drive-by shootings in the Grand Junction area has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Darian Kintz pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder and a sentence-enhancing crime of violence charge. He was sentenced Friday under a plea deal.

Over five days in December, 18-year-old Aaron Plotner fired a rifle from the passenger seat of a car driven by Kintz in Clifton and Fruitvale. Authorities believe two people were targeted, including 29-year-old Matthew Daly, who was shot through the shoulder Dec. 29 while walking home from a bar.

Plotner, who is scheduled to be sentenced in August, faces 21 to 64 years in prison.
