Springs man shot after carjacking

Colorado Springs police are investigating a carjacking and shooting that happened late Thursday night. It ended near the intersection of Lehmber Boulevard and Waddell Avenue.

According to police, the victim said two men forced their way into his car, armed with a gun, near Airport Road and Academy Boulevard.

The victim told police the two black men then forced him out of his car at the intersection of Lehmber Blvd. and Waddell Ave. and told him to run.

As he was running away, the men started firing a gun. One of those bullets hit the man.

He was taken to a local hospital and neighbors said he appeared to have been shot in the shoulder. They said he was conscious and expected to recover.

Police are looking for the stolen car. It is described as a green 1999 Toyota Corolla sedan with a Colorado license plate, 962-XLG.
