A carjacking turned into a high speed police chase and arrest on Thursday afternoon.

Police tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 that the suspect stole a vehicle near Little Caesar’s Pizza in the 2900 block of Galley Road. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Brent Harris, threatened the victim with a gun and drove away with the victim’s gold Ford Taurus.

Officers were able to spot the vehicle at Platte Ave and Murray Blvd traveling eastbound. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but the suspect refused to pull over.

Police officers pursued the vehicle until it went into a field at Fountain Blvd and Aeroplaza Dr. At that time, Harris exited the vehicle and was taken into custody by officers.
