Emergency notification sent out after attempted robbery

An emergency notification was sent out following an attempted armed robbery in Caon City Tuesday night.

The crime happened in the parking lot of the Walmart on East Highway 50 around 5:30 p.m.

Police say a woman was about to get into her car when the suspect stuck a gun in her side and demanded everything she had.

The victim screamed and the suspect ran to the North into an open field.

The suspect is described as a hispanic male, unknown age, 5’6 – 5’8, wearing all black and having his face partially covered with a “doo-rag”.
