Body in Chatfield Reservoir is Waldo Canyon Fire evacuee

The body of a Waldo Canyon Fire evacuee was found in the Chatfield Reservoir Wednesday.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies tell our sister station in Denver, KMGH, the body is that of one of the evacuees.

Deputies tell KMGH they believe the man was camping with his friends when he disappeared.

His body was found in Chatfield Reservoir around 7 Wednesday morning.

The victim has been identified as Jason Gustav Stark, 37, of Colorado Springs, according to the Douglas County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office says Stark died in a fresh water drowning and his death has been ruled accidental.
