Obama administration officials to visit the Waldo Canyon Fire area Monday

Obama administration officials will be visiting Colorado and Idaho to learn more about the response to the destructive wildfires in the West.

Starting Monday, Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano and agriculture secretary Tom Vilsack plan to travel to Denver and Colorado Springs, where a wildfire is blamed for killing two people and destroying nearly 350 houses.

They’ll then head to Boise, home of the National Interagency Fire Center, which supports wildland firefighting efforts around the country. The trip will wrap up Tuesday.
