New wildfire extinguished in Woodland Park

A new wildfire sparked in Woodland Park on Thursday.

The fire burned about 1/2 and acre of U.S. Forest Service land near the Walmart. Our crew at the scene says firefighters were able to gain control of the fire and put it out quickly.

A representative of the Northeast Teller County Fire Department tells us the fire was similar to the fires on Wednesday that were set by an arsonist. However, they have nto confirmed the link and will continue to investigate.
