Pueblo approves 4th of July fireworks display

The City of Pueblo has approved the commercial fireworks display for the community event on the Riverwalk on the 4th of July.

Fire Chief Christopher P. Riley has scheduled an extra full crew to be on duty during the holiday.

“The commercial display will be fully monitored by the Fire Department”, stated Chief Riley.

In the interest of public safety, the City of Pueblo has also chosen not to allow the sale of consumer fireworks.

Governor John Hickenlooper issued a statewide ban (D 2012-015) on all open burning including consumer fireworks last week.

Violators of the ban will be ticketed.
